NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING VOLUNTEERS. The Carmen B. Pingree Autism Center of Learning specializes in skill and behavioral development for children on the autism spectrum and co-occurring disorders. The program focuses on aiding students in the areas of language, cognition and social development; behavior management, and academic and pre-vocational skills. The Center is operated by Valley Behavioral Health and serves students throughout the Salt Lake Valley and adjacent counties.
Volunteers will support youth grades preschool through secondary. Children are taught behavioral modification skills, speech and language development, academic/cognitive concepts and attention skills.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and pass a background check. Volunteer hours are available from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. (elementary/secondary programs only) on Friday. Volunteers are expected to fill a three hour time slot at least one day a week. A three to six month commitment is preferred.
