I liked that I was able to get insight into the hospital environment since I've been interested in a career in medicine. I also liked getting to personally interact with the kids I was serving so I could really see the difference I was making. - Becca Bonham, Holladay, Utah

Volunteering at Primary Children's Medical Center was a fantastic experience. The volunteer program is well ran and volunteers are treated very well. I had so many memorable experiences helping the patients. I will never forget the time I had at Primary Children's as a volunteer. I highly recommend volunteering here!

I am a music volunteer at Primary. I play flute and piano in the lobby and on the third floor. There are many other volunteer positions needed so don't worry if you don't play and instrument. It was a little difficult to get started volunteering there because the ladies in charge of volunteering were hard to reach, but once I was started I didn't have a problem. I really enjoyed volunteering here because people from all walks of life come together at a hospital and every week the people there are different. When volunteering at the hospital you will get to work with people of all ages, from several different states, and all income levels. It is truly an amazing experience. I would recommend it to anyone.

I loved working at the hospital. I sent in my application and was instantly accepted to join Kids Crew. it is the best volunteer position there and they have monthly meeting with individuals who want to join. Kids Crew enables you to have access to all areas of the hospital to play, hold, or entertain kids ranging from 10 days - 18 some times 20 year olds. We run a multi-person shift and if you cant make that one Kat (the coordinator) is super nice and works with you. I have loved every moment of it and even though I'm super shy I have loved interacting with the kids.

I have been volunteering at Primary Children's for 1.5 years, and it is still one of the best parts of my week! I started working in the gift shop, but then transferred to kids crew to have more patient interaction. I love being able to spend time with kids of all ages! On kids crew, the volunteers play with children in the playroom, and in the patient rooms. We also drop off toys and crafts to patient rooms per request. I have made a lot of new friends that I met on my shift!

I love volunteering at Primary Children's so much! I have so much fun and have learned so much. I have been able to meet new people, patients and other volunteers! I have learned to love serving rather than thinking of it as a chore. The staff at Primary's is incredible, and it makes it such a fun experience to be a volunteer. I feel so welcomed and hope to continue to bring some happiness into patients lives' at Primary's.
