Hello everyone and happy Friday! This is Ashlee from the Family Place and the annual Princess Party is coming up on January 20th at Castle Manor and we could use some help! If anyone is interested in coming and helping with this fun event (helping with crafts, being a prince, playing games) we would be so thankful! There are two sessions: 9am-12pm or session 2: 1pm-5:pm. If you can stay the whole day, lunch will be provided. Thanks so much! Contact Ashlee for more details: vista@thefamilyplaceutah.org

ALL VOLUNTEERS ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO GO TO THE EVENTS AND NOT INSIDE THE BUILDING. The Family Place is a local non-profit dedicated to protecting children and strengthening families. This is done through providing a variety of services, most at no cost. We offer counseling, parenting classes, stepfamily classes, kids classes, and we host family-friendly events like our popular Princess Party. We also have the Kid's Place, which is a crisis/respite nursery where parents can bring their children (11 and younger) to come play in a safe environment in times of emergency or for scheduled weekly care. We have a 24-7 crisis line, and the Kid's Place is available night or day in the event of an emergency. Additionally, we are the local child abuse shelter. Through these services and more, we accomplish our mission of building stronger families.
There are many volunteer opportunities at The Family Place, and it all depends on what you would like to do! Everything from hosting a drive for items on our wish list to making crafts for kids to do at one of our events, there is always something to do. Other common volunteer opportunities include: making file folder games for kids, making blankets for kids, and cleaning the building. The possibilities are endless--contact us today to talk about different options! Some projects are completed at our building, but others can be done from home or with a group. If you want to work directly with children you must be at least 18 years old and pass a Background Criminal Investigation.
"The Family Place staff is welcoming, competent, and generous. The services they offer are abundant and the children that come are able to participate in a variety of fun and interactive activities. I had a great experience volunteering and heading a service project for The Family Place." -Alex Richens, Logan, Utah
