The Life-Skills & Individual Needs Center helps intellectually disabled adults learn life skills such as cooking, home care, academics and social skills. They have an active after hours social recreational program which welcomes volunteers from 16 years and up. Groups can be accommodated by appointment.
Volunteers will act as teachers aides. They will assist staff in classroom activities, job-coaching in the community and provide 1-1 assistance to people who need a little extra help or encouragement to participant in daily activities. Providing friendship and positive social role-models is very important.
I loved the people. Mentally handicapped people are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet in your life and I couldn't have asked for better people to serve. - Alexis, Ogden, UT
