They also offer long-term acute and transitional care in pediatrics. South Davis Community Hospital offers many types of therapies including physical therapy, music therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, recreational therapy, and respiratory therapy. Their hospice program offers care that meets the physical, emotional, spiritual, and social needs of people in the last stage of life's journey. Home Health provides skilled health care within the home environment, while focusing on keeping the patient safe and comfortable. Additionally it offers community education series and a number of support groups from grief support to support for those with brain injuries.
Volunteers have the opportunity to go on field trips, visit, read, play games or do puzzles, paint fingernails, help with arts or crafts, go on walks with patients or share any talents such as music, knitting, etc.
South Davis Community Hospital assists people who are unable to do things for themselves. The majority of the patients at the South Davis Community Hospital stay there for a very long period of time. As volunteers we assist their needs and make sure they are getting better. I will never forget the relationships I made with all of the individual patients at the South Davis Community Hospital. - Ally Weber, Bountiful, Utah

I absolutely LOVED volunteering here. Although it was sad to see the conditions these sweet people were in, I loved growing closer to them and becoming their friends. I was able to be someone they were excited to see and interact with. I also learned a lot about music therapy. It was amazing to see how the therapy helped the kids. It was also a very sweet, humbling experience to become friends with the kids. I truly grew to love them.

I have had the most amazing experience volunteering here! The connections that I had made with the sweet residents there have been so fun and something I treasure. There are a lot of people there in hard situations and cheering them up and being their friend is a very uplifting thing for me and for them.
