Arts Kids hosts in-school and out-of-school activities to help kids Find Their Happy Place - in a world that is often filled with frustration, disappointment, compliance and conformity, and a basic sense of not fitting in to established groups.
We show kids How to Find Their Happy Place and remind them that if they don't feel like they currently fit in anywhere - we have a spot for them on the Arts Kids team.
Arts Kids teaches kids life skills and coping strategies and then we host expressive and performing arts activities for kids - that focus on self-expression and self discovery.
Program volunteers assist the facilitator for each session and are supportive of each child during his or her life skills development introduction and the overall expressive art process of self expression and self-discovery.
Arts Kids has volunteer opportunities for out-of-school programs during the school year, on weekends and during summer camps. Event volunteers have basic assignments for one of the many events hosted by Arts Kids facilitators and teachers.
Being a volunteer was not my label, but rather, just to be a friend; to be there for the kids. I was a role model in their lives. Art wasn't just the outcome it was about the expression. - Kaila Balch, Park City, Utah
No artistic ability is required; however we do look for people who want to be role models, have a passion for helping kids and serving as mentors for younger kids.
