NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING VOLUNTEERS. When school is out, Clubs are in! Since 1967, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake has offered positive alternatives to children who may be surrounded by negative influences, showing them how to live successful and productive lives. Since 1860, Boys & Girls Clubs have provided safe havens for young people by offering quality programs and critical relationships with nurturing and reliable adults. Boys & Girls Clubs give their members, ages 3 - 18, access to dedicated, trained professionals who can provide guidance in adopting healthy lifestyles and pursuing educational objectives. Most importantly, Boys & Girls Clubs equip young people with the skills they need to resolve conflicts peacefully, improve relationships with every aspect of their day-to-day lives and function as responsible citizens. Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake serves kids at 12 locations in Salt Lake and Tooele counties. Last year, over 7,200 youth attended our Clubs with over 1,400 members coming to the Clubs each day.
We have many volunteer opportunities available for individuals and groups. We do not have weekend volunteer opportunities. Volunteer duties may include serving Kids Cafe, tutoring, helping with program activities, and will vary depending on the site and the time of day/year. All Club activities help us fulfill our Priority Outcomes: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character and Citizenship.
I loved the way the kids are so accepting and the staff loves having me around. During activity everyday I get the chance to be one-on-one with a kindergartener and help him or her either color or play a game. I never have a bad day when I was there. -Mary Grace Gilstrap, Salt Lake City, Utah "It is amazing! Im trying to go every day possible. And the kids are just fantastic and so much fun to work with!" - Eric S., Midvale, UT
There are 5 Clubs in Salt Lake County:Capitol West and Lied (Salt Lake City), Midvale, Murray, and Sugar House. In addition, we have Clubs in Tooele and Price, plus 1 elementary school site in Kearns.

I had an amazing experience volunteering with the Boys and Girls Club! I played with the kids, helped them with activities, helped them with homework, and also had the opportunity to tutor small groups of students and individual students. It was very fulfilling to help the kids master different concepts and subjects. My favorite part though was definitely the relationships that I created. After a long day, it was always nice to go in to the club and feel so loved by many of the students. I still have pictures and cards that the kids made for me!

I love volunteering at the boys and girls club because it is really fun to bond with the kids there and to do fun activities with them. I would highly recommend Youthlinc students who are searching for a main service site to choose this one. If you do choose to volunteer here, you will be able to have a great time mentoring kids from Kindergarten through 6th grade in their schoolwork as well as helping them to stay in shape and develop healthy exercise habits by playing games and doing different activities with them. Also, you will develop different skills and get to know a ton of different, awesome kids who will change your life.

Volunteering at the Boys and Girls club was a great experience for me. I had the opportunity to participate in physical activities and crafts with the kids. It was incredible to grow relationships with the kids during these various activities. I would definitely recommend the Boys and Girls club to anyone looking for a place to volunteer.

I have LOVED my time spent at the boys and girls club! It has been nothing short of amazing developing bonds with these kids and seeing the growth within them just after the short time I spent volunteering. I learned not only about the kids, but myself. They brought me so much happiness and I would recommend this service site to anyone who loves kids and making people feel important!!
