The mission of The Learning Lab is to ensure all students in our community have the access and support they need to be successful in their education. Students may need support with completing homework, or need access to necessary tools and supplies, or just need a place to explore new things. The Learning Lab continually grows and changes to meet the needs of all students.
Student volunteers are will support students kindergarten to fifth grade with homework, listen to them read, practice math facts and sight words.
Volunteers in The Learning Lab will act as positive role models and become mentors for the students in our program. After homework is completed volunteers have the opportunity to participate in extra learning activities (stem), play games, utilize the computer lab, or play outdoors with students. In The Learning Lab we work very hard to make our program students want to participate in, we strive to have a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.
"I loved the kids and it was really interesting hearing their stories! They are such happy kids and it's so fun to be around them." -Addy Gesteland, Salt Lake City, Utah
