Family Support & Treatment Center is a home of hope and healing and is centered on supporting individuals and families. We prevent harm, provide hope and heal relationships. Our Mission is to build a community of healthy, happy individuals and families through education and the prevention and treatment of child abuse, trauma and other personal and family concerns. Our services include: Crisis Respite Nursery, Therapy Services, Adoption Respite, Parenting Classes, and Prevention Education in schools and in the community.
COVID 19 UPDATE: Masks will be worn at all times. Your temperature will be taken upon arrival. Come play with children! Our Crisis Respite Nursery provides a safe place for children ages newborn to 11 years old. Families use the nursery for a crisis such as a medical emergency, death of a family member, a mental health crisis, or if a child is at risk of experiencing abuse, neglect, or trauma. The nursery is most often used for respite reasons (a break). This includes a parent or guardian needing to attend a therapy appointment, support group, court hearing, doctor appointment, or a job certification class or interview--or just feeling stressed and needing a break. Once the children enter the nursery, we want them to feel safe and simply play and be a kid. As a volunteer, your main responsibility is spending one-on-one time with the children. We expect you to play with them and have fun with them.
Volunteers can volunteer during these hours: Mon-Thurs 9 AM - 9 PM and Friday 9 AM - 5 PM. Through July 1st, 2021, as a volunteer you are committing to help a minimum of 40 hrs. Days and times of shifts can be flexible. This minimum requirement can be done within 5-7 months, but we would greatly appreciate volunteers who are able to volunteer longer periods of time. Volunteers attend a 90 minute orientation where a background check will be filled out and mailed to the Department of Human Services Office of Licensing. You MUST pass a background check in order to volunteer. This can take 3-5 weeks to process. You may volunteer once before the background check clears, but then must wait to schedule additional shifts until you are notified it has cleared. Background checks will cost the volunteer $42.25, but can be reimbursed after 40 hours of volunteering. If you are 16 or 17 you must attend orientation, but don't need a background check. Our Volunteer Coordinator holds at least one orientation a week. However, please note that Saturday or Sunday orientations are not available. To schedule an orientation, contact our Volunteer Coordinator by e-mail at: volunteer@utahvalleyfamilysupport.org

I love volunteering at the family support and treatment center! They work really well with my schedule and have several available hours. The house parents are wonderful to work with and they truly appreciate their volunteers. One of my favorite things is that every time that I go the experience is different. There are different kids there and you play and do different activities. I really enjoy the time that I spend there and am even considering applying there for a job at the end of the school year.

I have absolutely LOVED volunteering here. The environment is so great and I always feel so happy when I am there. All of the kids are so fun to play with and the Houseparents are so nice and appreciative. The scheduler lady is super flexible and will work with you to fit you in whenever works for you. I will for sure keep volunteering here even after I have finished my hours!
