The Road Home provides support and shelter for overcoming homelessness. They have a wide variety of programs.
Volunteers 16 and older enable The Road Home to provide services such as assisting at the front desk and helping with meals, computer classes, assisting at the front desk, and helping with meals. In the Kids Book Club, volunteers read with the children individually and in a group. They then do activities related to the books theyve read.
I learned how truly lucky I am to be self-sufficient. The families living at the Road Home depended upon others to provide food for them and I was happy to help give that service. I really enjoyed serving at The Road Home and I plan to continue doing so. - Madelyn Mortensen, Salt Lake City, Utah

As much as I enjoyed all aspects of my time serving with The Road Home, I have to say that I got the most opportunities for hands-on service while volunteering with the women's shelter. Women are often hit hardest by homelessness, and I was moved and humbled by many of the subtler insights I gained while helping out on the women's side of the main shelter downtown.
