For the past 25 years Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Intermountain Area has been providing a home-away-from-home for families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at area hospitals.
With the help of individuals and groups around the community we provide a place for families to rest, have a home cooked meal and provide basic amenities, so that their focus is on the healing of their child. UPDATE 8/28/2020 - NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING VOLUNTEERS.
Volunteers are the heart of our home. We couldn't provide all that we do without the assistance of groups and individuals. We have so many opportunities to provide service including checking families in, answering the phone, cleaning the rooms, preparing meals for the families, collecting pop tops, help with birthday parties, wrap Christmas gifts and so much more!
I enjoyed working with the Hospitality Desk manager. She was a very fun and sweet person that made the time there enjoyable. She would also give me fun art projects to do for the upcoming holidays, like making paper flowers to hang up for decorations for Easter. I got to see and meet a lot of families and hearing their stories and how they are persevering onward. I learned that a smile can go a long way. - Tasia Wu, Salt Lake City, Utah
